Guide

Your public website

Every PanelRP server has a public website: pages, a menu and a theme that you edit visually, with no code. Visitors only see what you have published, so you can work on drafts safely. This guide covers editing a page and putting it online.

Steps

  1. Open the editor

Click "Website" in the sidebar of the admin. The visual editor opens. It is the single place where you manage the pages, the menu, the media and the theme of your site.

  2. Pick a theme

Open "Themes" in the sidebar of the editor. The catalogue offers free themes and premium themes. Applying a theme changes the look of the whole site.

  3. Create or choose a page

Open "Pages". Select an existing page, or click "Create page" and give it a title. The slug, which is the end of the page address, is generated from the title when you leave it empty.

  4. Add blocks

Use the "Block library" to add blocks to the header, the content and the footer of the page, then fill them in. Your changes are saved automatically as a draft, and "Draft saved" appears when it is done.

  5. Edit the menu and add images

Open "Menu" to edit the navigation of your site, and "Media" to upload the images you use on your pages.

  6. Preview your drafts

Choose "View site as draft" to see your drafts on the public site. This applies to your browser only: other visitors keep seeing the published version. "Leave draft view" takes you back to the published site.

  7. Publish

Click "Publish page" to put the current page online. The "More publish options" menu also offers "Publish header and footer", "Publish theme settings" and "Publish everything". Work that is not online yet is marked "Unpublished changes".

  8. Go back to an earlier version

The "Versions" panel records a version at every publish, and for every snapshot you create. Restoring a version replaces the current draft: publish afterwards to put it online.

Good to know

  • Opening the editor requires the permission to manage the server website, and publishing can require an additional right. If you see "You are not allowed to publish this site", ask the owner or an administrator.
  • The default address of your site is shown in the "Custom domain" step of the initial setup, under "Default address".
  • Jobs such as police or hospital can have their own website, edited from the job admin with the same editor.
  • Players can sign in on the site of your server with Discord, Google, Facebook, Microsoft or a magic link.
